The Swiss Food Association SGE
The Swiss Society for Nutrition (SSN) is the national centre of competence for nutrition. It takes on assignments and develops services that help to enhance the dietary expertise of the population and to improve the boundary conditions. In the process, it adopts an approach that makes it possible for everybody to take responsibility for their own eating behaviour and to understand information.
The activities of the SSN are to be found in the areas of prevention and health promotion. Its core competences lie in the acquisition of knowledge, the development of scientific bases for specific topics of nutrition, their communication in a manner appropriate to the target group, and their preparation in a form that lends itself to practical use. The SSN has an important bridging function between science, the general public, the authorities and industry. It thus supports the transfer of know-how and the effectiveness of dietary information and projects.
