Original spelt (UrDinkel)
UrDinkel is a common brand of spelt in Switzerland from a specific crop. It guarantees the exclusive use of old Swiss spelt varieties, which have not been crossed with modern wheat.
The logo and designation UrDinkel were launched in 1996 by the Swiss Interests Group (IG) Spelt and registered as a trademark. The accompanying mandatory specification for UrDinkel regulates the cultivation, the processing and the declaration. UrDinkel cultivated according to the guidelines of the marketing association IP-SUISSE (integrated agriculture) or Bio Suisse (biological agriculture), and grown exclusively in traditional Swiss growing areas. The oval logo serves as an identifying mark which is printed on the packaging or applied to Urdinkel bread as an edible wafer.
