Protein fulfils a great many tasks in our bodies. An adult requires just under 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. It serves to build up the body cells (e.g. muscles), is a constituent of hormones and enzymes and contributes to the healing of wounds.
The most important suppliers of protein to the body are meat, fish, eggs and milk products. But other foods also contain protein and contribute to our daily protein intake: nuts, pulse, grains, potatoes.

DAR-VIDA Nature, for example, contains 12% vegetable protein from the stone-ground whole grain wheat. DAR-VIDA whole grain crackers are an ideal snack combined with animal protein, such as yoghurt, a milk drink, cheese or cured meats.
